About Us

Romanian wilderness with eco-tourism guides

Our Story

Founded in 2020 by Elena Popescu, a passionate biologist and lifelong advocate for Romanian wilderness, PlatenXLusterer began as a small initiative to introduce visitors to the hidden natural treasures of the Carpathian Mountains while ensuring minimal environmental impact.

Our journey started when Elena led a group of international conservationists through remote areas of Romania's forests, showcasing the remarkable biodiversity that remains largely undiscovered by mass tourism. The overwhelming positive response to these early expeditions led to the formation of our company with a clear mission: to create meaningful ecological experiences that benefit both visitors and local ecosystems.

By 2023, we had expanded our operations to include the Danube Delta and Transylvanian highlands, partnering with local communities to develop sustainable tourism infrastructure that provides economic opportunities while preserving cultural and natural heritage. These partnerships have been fundamental to our growth and our commitment to responsible tourism.

Looking ahead to 2026, we are preparing to launch our most ambitious initiatives yet, incorporating cutting-edge conservation technologies and expanding our educational programs to create a new standard for eco-tourism in Eastern Europe.

What Our Guests Say

"My expedition with PlatenXLusterer transformed how I think about tourism. Their guides' expertise was incredible - I learned more about forest ecosystems in one week than in years of casual reading. Most impressive was seeing how they've integrated with local communities, creating authentic experiences that benefit everyone involved."

"As a wildlife photographer, I've traveled extensively, but my tour with PlatenXLusterer stands out for their commitment to responsible wildlife viewing. Their guides knew exactly where to find rare species without disturbing natural behaviors. The accommodations were simple but comfortable, with impressive eco-friendly features. I'll definitely return for their 2026 expanded programs."

"Our family trip through the Carpathians with PlatenXLusterer was the perfect balance of adventure and education. Our children were completely engaged thanks to the interactive nature activities. The highlight was staying in a traditional village where we learned to make cheese using centuries-old methods. Five years later, my kids still talk about the bears we safely observed from a distance."
